Soul of Beast Series
Isham's animals are spirit animals - at once majestic embodiments of the spirit of life at its most basic and noble spirits in themselves. In defiance of the conventional conception of the animal as an entirely physical being, with no feelings and character, she shows that they, like human beings- indeed, even more conspicuously than human beings- have souls.
