Kun - The Receptive Acrylic on canvas, 108" x 90" coll: Mary Swift
|
Galaxy Series
Isham calls these "totems," acknowledging her debt to archaic: cosmogonic conceptions. Energy materializes in the form of a pillar streaming vertically (like a dark dust-devil or the tail of a comet, endowed with several dimensions including the archic and mythological (the phallic symbol, birth of the world, fecundity). Later works give different form to the energies spilled out into the cosmos, appearing as constellations of stars, now fog-like, now forming bright gaseous clouds.
